This award honours women who have made a name for themselves in the automobile industry or in motorsport
Sabine Schmitz, the only woman to have won the 24 Hours of the Nurburgring, received many accolades during her lifetime, but perhaps none as moving as the Woman of Worth awarded annually by the WWCOTY. This award honours women who have made a name for themselves in the automobile industry or in motorsport.
Now the family of Sabine Schmitz, deeply affected by the loss of the driver, is the custodian of this award, the presentation of which has been managed by the German WWCOTY jurors Solveig Grewe and Helene Schmidt.
The Queen of the Nurburgring will always occupy a very special place among the WWCOTY jurors, an international team of 55 women from more than 41 countries. Sadly, Sabine Schmitz, winner of impossible feats, could not win her race against cancer, but she did win the admiration and respect of the WWCOTY and its millions of fans.
